Frequently Asked Questions
(PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BOOKING)

  • Do you do hair?

    • I personally do not, but I do work with a hairstylist and are able to offer Makeup + Hair appointments.

  • Do you travel or work at a studio?

    • Both! I have a private suite inside Salons by JC - Baybrook Mall, 19056 Gulf Fwy., Friendswood Tx. 77546 (next to Baybrook Mall). I also travel to client's house, venues, out of state, wherever client wants service. 

  • Am I able to bring guests with me to my appointment?

    • Minors are encouraged to bring a parent or guardian with them to their appointment. However due to size of suite we do not have a waiting area so please no extra guests.

  • How do I book with you?

    • Please NO DMs as often times messages get lost in the request folder. 

    • Please refer to tab BOOK MAKEUP APPOINTMENT.

      • Choose accordingly to your event (Event Glam (any non-bridal event), Bridal Glam, or Editorial/Photoshoots.

    • If you book the wrong category, your appointment will be corrected. Please click "Read More" when choosing your type of appointment for its description.

  • How far in advance should I book with you? 

    • As soon as you know the date of your event and the time you must be ready by. My availability is more likely filled up the closer to the date so I suggest not waiting till the last minute. Don't ever feel silly for booking so far in advance!

    • PLEASE NOTE my books open 180 days from present day. If your date is 180+ dates away please email me at: MakeupByMariaAurora@gmail.com.

  • How much do you charge?

  • How long does an appointment take?

    • The time an appointment takes is shown above the "Request to Book" button for that service.​

  • Are lashes included?

    • Yes! Strip lashes are included and I have a wide variety of different styles to complement your glam.  

  • Can I book a trial for my wedding?
    • Absolutely! A trial for brides is highly suggested for your peace of mind so you will be 100% happy with your decision on the look you picked for your wedding day. 

  • Do I need to do any prepping prior getting my makeup done?

    • Simply a clean face! I suggest exfoliating a couple days prior appointment date​. On day of, simply wash face with cleanser and use a moisturizer. This will have your face glowing and ready! Remember, makeup will always look better on a clean, exfoliated, and moisturized face.

  • Can you clean up my brows or shave peach fuzz with a facial razor?

    • Sorry, but no. That service should be done prior your service by yourself or a professional. I provide makeup application services only. If you have unwanted facial hair please take care of it prior your appointment as makeup does enhance the appearance of facial hair.

  • Do I need to supply any of my products for you to use?

    • Nope! I supply everything. I believe in the products that I use and know that I will get a great result every time.

  • Do I have to have anything ready at my place for you to do makeup?

    • In a room that has great lighting especially natural lighting, please have a table with ample space where I am able to set up my products and a chair (preferably a tall chair) for you to sit on. Most of the times venues are well accommodated with this, but if it is at your house the best place tends to be your kitchen or dining area. 

    • Please NO restrooms, as restroom counters often offer very little work space and well someone might need to use the restroom which will cut down on your appointment time.

  • I'm allergic to certain cosmetics/products, what do I do?

    • If you are allergic to certain cosmetics/products please advise before booking. We will address your allergy or any concerns you have so I can make sure I will be able to accommodate your needs. Your safety is my number one priority.​

  • Is gratuity included in total amount due?

    • Gratuity is not included in total amount. Though not expected nor required, it is greatly appreciated!

I have always ​taken the extra measure of properly cleaning, disinfecting tools, and sanitizing products after each client. But now especially during this time, I continue to do so and ask if you are not feeling well and experiencing COVID like symptoms to please let me know prior your appointment. For your safety and mine I have also completed a certification program to learn more on how to protect my clients and myself and continue to monitor CDC guidelines.
